Electrolytic Capacitor 100uF, 16V
The negative lead is marked on the
case and that is the shorter wire in this instance. 16V is
the maximum working D.C. voltage that is allowed on the
capacitor. You can use a capacitor with a higher voltage
rating where a lower voltage is specified. C13 acts as a reservoir for the
battery. C11 blocks DC voltage from getting into the
speaker. C12 acts as a reservoir for the RF stages to stop
audio signals from getting along the power rails into those
sensitive stages. C10 bypasses the emitter resistor of Q4
and increases the voltage gain in that transistor.
